A background that spans both software engineering and hands-on laboratory automation — across healthcare, clinical genomics, research, and biopharmaceutical labs.
I started this consultancy after spending many years watching laboratories struggle with the same problem: brilliant scientists, complex workflows, and powerful instruments — but too many disconnected systems, manual workarounds, and automation projects that never quite deliver their full value.
Over more than two decades, I've worked on everything from custom clinical integration systems and genomics workflow automation through to robotic liquid handling, liquid class optimisation, instrument connectivity, scheduling platforms, data pipelines, analytics dashboards, QC tools, documentation systems, training, and AI-assisted troubleshooting.
I'm particularly interested in the space between wet lab operations and digital systems — where liquid handlers, instruments, scientists, data platforms, LIMS, ELNs, and reporting tools all need to work together. This is often where the biggest problems occur, but also where the biggest gains can be made.
My approach is practical and workflow-first. I don't believe automation should be added just for the sake of it. The goal is to understand the lab, identify where technology genuinely helps, and build solutions that improve quality, reduce manual burden, increase traceability and transparency, and make scientific operations easier to manage in general.
Today, I'm focused on helping labs modernise through automation, data science, integration, and AI-enabled tools — giving teams the confidence to adopt new technology without getting lost in the complexity.
